What is supplied within a ZG marquee?

Is electric and water available at ZG?
Both water and electric are provided with our marquees, the use of a generator is not required.

How many guests can ZG accommodate?
ZG can accommodate upto 500 guests within its marquees.

Are marquees waterproof?
Yes, marquees are waterproof. To be absolutely certain of a dry floor we include a hard floor with carpet which is a safer though more expensive option than coconut matting.

Is the Marquee insured in-case of damage?
Damage waiver against damage to persons or equipment caused through negligence by ZG Marquees is included in all our quotes but we would advise that you insure against cancellations.

When will the marquee be erected and dismatled?
The Marquee is constructed a day before your event and dismatled the day after your event.

What are the WC arrangements at ZG?
We supply luxury Washroom trailors which are sized according to the number of guests attending the event. <BACK TO MENU >

When is the ideal time to book ZG for our event?
As soon as possible ensures your event date is booked under your name.

Would ZG condider other event types upon the grounds?
ZG are always considering new ideas which promote the usage of their grounds, we are exploring opportunities to enhance events and ties with the local community - from fetes to sports events. If you would like to suggest an event please feel free to contact a member of the ZG staff.

Is the external lighting provided at ZG?
All external lighting is provided at ZG, from carpark and entry lighting, to externally lighting the marquee and walkways.

How much does a marquee event cost at ZG?
Our price guide section indicates the typical prices charged for a marquee at Zinnia Gardens, the price guide section includes costs for an above average marquee any further additions are charged accordingly.

What is the difference between a seated or buffet event?
A seated service event is typically that which the client requires waiter/waitress service to the tables and their seated guests, a buffet service is typically that which requires the guests to collect their dinner from an arranged table.
The Seated service typically requires a more spacial layout than a buffet.

What size marquee would we need?
This depends on a number of factors such as: 1. The number of guests you are expecting / 2. Whether you are having seated or a buffet service / 3. Whether you are having a dance floor / 4. Whether you are having a DJ / 5. Whether you require space for milling about / 6. Whether the caterers require preparation space.

Is there disabled access at ZG?
There is disabled access from the carpark to the marquee by means of a ramp and a solid floor.

Will any other events be happening on our event day?
No other event will take place during your event day, the grounds are only exclusively available to the booked client and their guests.

Will there be representative from ZG with us on the day?
Prior to your event, during and after your event a ZG representative will be allocated to you for any questions or guidance for your event.

How do we arrange car parking on our event day?
A parking attendant will be provided for your event, they will guide the cars to the best parking position on the day.

Must we walk on the grass to have access to the Marquee?
No, all walkways to and fro from the carpark to the marquee and the WCs will be covered in a suitable flooring so that no contact is made with the grass.

Are there local hotels we may suggest to our guests?
Yes, located within our catchment area include hotels in: Reigate, Epsom, Sutton, and Leatherhead.

How many cars can be parked at ZG?
The carpark may hold upto 80 cars, ZG also have an overflow carpark arrangement of an additional 50 cars which is exercised if required, the car park attendant on your event day will guide you and your guests accordingly.

May we use our own Caterer?
Yes, ZG do not insist on using our preferred caterers. however it is important to note that a reliable caterer or other supplier is essential, we only suggest tried and tested caterers and other suppliers.

Do you charge corkage, for self drink supply?
No, ZG do not charge a corkage fee, you may supply and serve your own alcohol at no additional charge from ZG.

What types of Marquees does ZG use?
ZG use two main marquee types:

Is there a registry office at ZG?
No there is not a registry office at ZG, however a few registry offices and churches are located near by. <BACK TO MENU >

What time does ZG close?
The opening times for your event day are: Midday - Midnight (due to licensing laws)

Does ZG have an alcohol license?
ZG obtain a license on your behalf for your event.

May we launch fireworks at our event?
Due to ZG being located on green belt surrounded by horses we only allow silent fireworks to be used, ZG supply details of firework providers. Often the fireworks are complemented by music.

May we launch flying lanterns at our event?
ZG allow flying lanterns to be launched during ideal flying conditions (minimum rain and wind), the launch site is positioned away from the main marquee structure for safety.

May we have an Indian Fire Ceremony within a Marquee?
ZG allow a fire to be positioned within the marquee for a Hindu wedding service, ZG will require a restriction on the flame size and the base of the fire will need to be positioned on a non combustable layer - typically stone/slate base.

May we use a horse and carriage at ZG?
You may use a horse and carriage at ZG, ZG can provide the details of local horse and carriage companies for you.

Can marquees be opened in warm weather?
Marquees may be opened during warm weather to allow for a more spacial and picturesque view.

Do we need heaters within the Marquee?
Even in midsummer, a heater may be necessary. So budget for a heater just in case, and make a decision in the week leading up to your party when you have seen the weather forecast. Heater technology has advanced substantially in recent years, so a tent even in winter will be surprisingly warm.

Are marquee's suitable for winter events?
Decked out appropriately (balloons and lighting effects rather than lilies), marquees make ideal venues for Christmas and New Year parties. Powerful heaters ensure warmth, and hard flooring, while more expensive than traditional summer matting, protects winter marquee from wet winter ground. So you can capture the beauty and convenience of a marquee event even in winter.

What Colour is the marquee?
All our marquees are made of lacquered white PVC.

Must we have a marquee to hold an event at ZG?
It is not essential to have a marquee for your event, the British weather usually dictates unreliable weather so some form of covered areas are usually a good idea, small structures such as Gazebo's or gala tents would be suitable in such situations.

Can ZG provide an Event Manager for our event?
To remove the time and effort taken to prepare the different elements of an event it is often a good idea to use an event organiser. An event organiser from ZG can be a cost effective solution for your event compared to a commercial event organiser. Rates starting from £150.

What extra's may I have included within my event?
There are countless elements that may be included into an event, the most popular at ZG include:

Do our caterers have a section within the marquee?
Depending on the experience and size of the catering company this varies. A well established caterer may have a structure which is positioned to one side of the marquee - this area is used to prepare and heat the food. If the marquee size allows, a section may be screened off within the marquee structure to create a preparation space for the caterers.

May we visit ZG during event time?
Events at ZG typically start between midday and 4pm, we usually allow accompanied viewings between 10 - 11.30am during event days, please contact a member of the ZG staff to book a viewing.
